some online infographics depicting the disaster happening in New Orleans after the Katrina hurricane. please add more sources in comments section. [nytimes & flickr.com & nola.com(pdf) & latimes.com & lsu.edu|via queso.com]
Nola.com has a better version of the flickr.com graphic at http://www.nola.com/hurricane/index.ssf?/washingaway/goingunder.html. Also, the page links to the entire special report in the Times-Picayune. The special report has additional related graphics, including an animated SLOSH model.
nytimes shows an interactive satellite image, which gives quite a good overview of the events timeline. Furthermore it offers a linkage between the flooding of urban areas and social data (non-white population, average income etc.). link: http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html/national/2005_HURRICANEKATRINA_GRAPHIC/index.html
