Reminds me of Weltatlas (http://atlas.tagesschau.de/), an interactive map displaying locations of the news. In contrast to BBC's this does not show usage but places where events occured.
Make dynamic queries by selecting a continent ("Kontinente") or a country ("Länder") and choose the age of the shown news stories by selecting e.g. "letzte Woche" (last week) in the "Nachrichten" drop down.
