an amazing animated, pixel-based 'conversion' (or is it 'visualization'?) of a huge 'core dump' file containing computer memory data. the interesting aspect is that 'Data Diaries' is based on simply parsing the data file through normal Quicktime video software, 'fooling' Quicktime into thinking it actually is a video file
"Then press play. Your computer's memory is now video art. Quicktime plays right through, not knowing that the squiggles and shards on the screen are actually the bits and bytes of the computer's own brain. The data was always right in front of your nose. Now you can watch it."
conversion versus visualization: what do visual patterns mean?

"... Quicktime plays right through, not knowing ..."
reminds me of browsing through my amiga 500's memory using action replay mk III.
What is the name of the screensaver version? That's a 25 MB download with 200 savers.
