a new visual mind mapping, or "idea visualization" interface that supports brainstorming & organizing ideas online. as in traditional brainstorming, or “mind mapping”, this website allows for a central idea to branch of in circles with new branches containing new ideas, creating a free form diagram.

Gliffy is also an impressive product in this space.

Gliffy is more like a web2.0 version of Visio. Bubbl.us is more of a brainstorming tool. It's slick for what it does but is very simple. For example, it can only make tree-like diagrams. You cannot have a node be connected to two parents.
i also suggest freemind, which is incredibly easy to use (easier than bubble, which is itself a fine tool) and lets you export to PDF, HTML, and flash.

although these are considered brainstorming tools, i really think the mindmap interface could provide an alternative to powerpoint presentations, because it could give the viewer a better idea of the trajectory of the presentation as you navigate through it. developing a useable, interacting interface, however, is beyond my skillset.
