a novel 3D desktop tool that allows users to search images, explore eBay pages or browse the web using a 3D flipbook-like metaphor. the SpaceTime interface is able to load multiple search results as a stack of separate pages, as it parses 10 simultaneous results at a time. users can the flip through results, rearrange the pages, zoom in or manipulate them in a 2D view.

I think I can see the use of being able to arrange screenshots of search results in a lightbox metaphor, especially images, but what is the benefit of being able to tilt the pages in 3D space?

To put it another way, "Why settle for legible, fullscreen 2D browsing when you can look at your pages reduced and distorted?"

This is nothing but CPU-intensive scrolling.
