infosthetics was (& probably will be in the near future) somewhat less active, due to the recent arrival of Arno, my newborn son.

his aesthetic (& still intuitively understandable) visualization of love, hunger & happiness, the result of a few hundred thousands of years of harsh infosthetic "usability testing", deserves all attention.

in the meantime, see baby stroller maps & baby diaper tracking & baby conveyer & baby name voyager.

Congratulations! We just had our first child last September and it is great - although if you're posting at all in the first 3 months I'll be amazed. btw, the pregnancy and birth of my daughter had me make some simple tools for calculating age. The pregnancy tracker has some visualizations. Age tracker here: Arno.

Congratulations! It's a cliche, but true: enjoy every moment of it. It goes by so fast. (Well, maybe not the first month or two, but then it really starts to fly.)

How did I miss this one! Congratulations indeed. Lots of data to collect and visualize about cycles of eating, pooing, crying, and hopeful most of all... laughter.

Thu 16 Aug 2007 at 3:42 AM

Congratulations! I kind of know how you feel :) Now that we replicate so eagerly, I see a bright new future for visualization also in the next generations :)

My father's name is Arno. Aside from the problem of people frequently calling him Arnold, I've come to the conclusion that it's a perfectly good name for a person as well as the river in Florence.

Congrats and best wishes to you and your new son.
