an algorithmic visual representation of barcodes, of which the numerical codes determine the positions, curves & colors of Bezier curves in a tree structure. the number of curves varies in correspondence to the number of figures in the code. in addition, information details of the country of origin, manufacturer, product number & sum are displayed.

I have no idea what these images are displaying. I see the company name, country, and the checksum, but I have no idea what the structure represents. And the description on the site doesn't elucidate.

seems to be similar to "visual hash" techniques. certainly more art than visualization, though.

The project is about data visualization. I tried to combine the barcode itself with the information about the manufacturer of the product from the "gepir" databasen in an more astetical way.
If it shows an EAN 13 code, it shows 13 points with black stars. Each number of the barcode codes information. E.g. the first 2 nummers are for the country of orgin. You can find them in the tree, the black stars are connected with the flag "country of orgin" by lines.
Have fun and thanks to information aesthetics!
To look up a barcodes information in the Gepir database, just enter the numbers on the Gepirs website.

Cheers, Daniel
