a series of suspended data sculptures that interpret the recent events in Mumbai, India through the lens of it's 2 dominant languages English & Marathi. the 3 sculptures were programmed as MEL scripts in Maya & realized with a rapid prototyping printer.
in "Encounter", each syllable of the Marathi word has been collided with it’s English equivalent. the resulting Marathi letters have the English word embedded in the negative space of the sculpture. in "Bombay", the words Bombay & Mumbai are exploded as a metaphor for the bombings as well as the disappearing memories of the old English-only signs now converted into Marathi. in "Cowherd”, the word "governor" is sequentially morphed from English to Marathi in a spiral.
