Compelling ... but from an infographics point of view, it's basically just an animated 'by the numbers' list. It tells me a lot -- lots of good reporting and thinking here -- but it would have been far more arresting to visually quantify those numbers, giving readers a real sense of scale and proportion.

Yeah, William, I have to agree. Even though 3 trillion sounds like much, it is absolutely not visualisable. What could you do with 3 trillion dollars for health care, education, road building?
