DiggGraphr [arpitonline.com] is a treemap visualization of the stories published on Digg, where each story is represented by a rectangle and the area occupied by each rectangle is proportional to the number of Diggs relative to the other stories in that channel.
DiggGraphr is inspired by marumushi/Marcos Weskamp's excellent NewsMap, but instead of news articles, it represents Digg stories. It is also available as a desktop application which can be downloaded here.

I did this app about 1-2 years ago, called Digg UFO. It's a news reader as well but more oriented towards showing all categories in chronological order. The count of digg is represented in the opacity of the boxes.

digggraphr looks brilliant.
Actually, scratch what I said about brilliant... their design really needs some work :/
Thanks for that one! Sadly it does not make use of permalinks. NewsMap is great, especially for this feature.
I would love to see this kind of tree visualization for Twitter as well. It could be aggregated via the # selector.
If there is already one, please enlighten me. ;)
Isn't this just a derivative of Marcos Weskamp's 'Newsmap'?
