The [sensory-minds.com, click Projects then choose ) seems to be installed in , a famous motorsport race track around the village of Nürburg, Germany The two-piece wall consists of a huge LED media facade (at the top), and a multitouch information-wall (at the bottom), and impresses by its physical size, as it totals a surface of about 425 square meters, equaling more than 6000 computer displays.
The interactive interface emerges out of 34 million pixels generated by 15 high definition projectors, supported by sound produced by 30 directional speakers. The multitouch capturing itself is based on laser technology, also called . This means more than 80 users can simultaneously get informed about news and activities around the ringworld. Now imagine the sorts of sparklines this device could display...

This was a fascinating installation, but I didn't see multi-touch anywhere. Only single touch was shown in the video. Very nice presentation area for this technology though.
They should be using FREE Digital Signage from http://MediaSignage.com and really drive the cost down.
Larry.
lag!
Great video, linked to it http://www.esport.co.nz/news/2009/11/the-worlds-largest-multi-touch-wall/
It took me two watches to really notice the huge display area *above* the ring wall.
Awesome!
@johnconstantine: You are right - you can't really see it in the video, because it shows the basic version of the application. It theoretically supports multitouch, but the application doesn't contain any multitouch elements yet (like pictures to pinch & zoom for example). But these features are planned for the next version of the application respectively for future applications.
In this particular case, multitouch is equatable with multi-user.
i wonder how long until this wall gets hacked lol
Huge installations must be really avenging..
How do you handle the big virtual screen? Would it be simple to drag objects across zones?
Very nice project, thank you.
hi sensory-minds
nice application. you wrote that you are using Laser_Light_Plane_Illumination but isn't it the radartouch interface? i found some informations about that system on www.radar-touch.com
