Similar to the Feltron Annual Report, it has become a yearly tradition for the New York Times to release an op-ed chart depicting A Year in Iraq and Afghanistan [PDF, GIF, nytimes.com]. You can read this year's the accompanying news article here, or compare the chart with those released back in 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007.

Each year, the accompanying (almost obligatory) post on infosthetics.com receives a few comments about some issues relating to the readability and comprehensibility of the chart. What do you think, did they listen this year?
