This is seemingly old news, but hopefully still interesting to you, dear reader. Nike Grid [nikegrid.com] was an urban game for runners, held over 2 weeks, here in London. After each day, an infographic video was produced that revealed that day's runs, superimposed on a map.
The routes are stylised as hexagonal traces, with colored hexagonal shapes to indicate the end of each successful run. The explanations about the meaning of shapes and colors are always shown, in between the different sections (but you need to be quick to read). The movie below, for instance, shows people running during the day versus at night, those running in the rain, those running particularly fast, and so on.
