Since the days of Aaron Koblin's groundbreaking and mesmerizing Flight Patterns, we all known how seductive flight routes can be when rendered as colorful streaks of light against a dark background.

Transport visualization firm Ito World has taken this approach one step further, in particular by adding a detailed level of information in terms of the exact travel altitudes of the tracked airplanes. Red flights are ascending, blue flights are descending.
