an interesting interactive visualization showing the Bible (66 books containing 30,652 verses) in a wide range of contexts: political, academic, scientific, ethical, literary &, of course, religious. all are on display, along with careful discussion about the meanings & implications of every line. this visualization is an attempt to understand how people quote the Bible: which parts they choose to quote, & why.
it highlights the portions that appear most often on the web & presents excerpts from some of them. passages on the right are from pages that quote the Bible, while the left shows the exact text of the Bible. darker lines & bigger fonts are passages found most often on the web via Google. see also gospel spectrum.
