About the Information Aesthetics Weblog
THE NAME

Inspired by Lev Manovich's of "information aesthetics", this weblog explores the symbiotic relationship between creative design and the field of information visualization. More specifically, it collects projects that represent data or information in original or intriguing ways. Since its conception in December 2004, several other terms have been introduced within the academic world for similar phenomena, ranging from '' (PDF) over '' (PDF) to '' (PDF).

His research interests merge the representation of information and explorative, creative design, such as in the fields of data visualization, mapping, interaction design, media architecture, urban computing and digital fabrication.
