botanical hierarchies

three-dimensional plant-like structures that represent file & directory hierarchies. non-leaf nodes are mapped to branches & child nodes to sub-branches, while sets of leaves are shown as fruit. this project shows that visualization methods influenced by other disciplines, such as botanical modeling, can be effective for many (even academic) purposes.
