an online graphical dictionary that generates network diagrams based on Princeton University’s WordNet, an open-source database built by University students & language researchers. words are colored depending on noun, adjective, verb or adverbs, while the connections convey relationships between words (e.g. 'is a part of', 'is a kind of', 'opposes').
while visually resembling Thinkmap's Visual Thesaurus, Visuwords is available as a free resource.

feels like it falls short. it would be nice if antonyms pushed apart where synonyms pulled together. would be extra nice if new words were added to the existing graph instead of creating a new graph. i hope they keep developing it.
There's also MapMyWord a very similar project, which won the 2006 best Google gadget award.
