I'd make the argument that this is information that you should NOT be concerned with every day. Body satisfaction is important, and unfortunately woefully rare. The utility of wearing a 'multipurpose' item that physically measures your midsection every day is dubious at best.

Of course some genius will eventually sew on a measuring tape along the vertical lines of the zipper flap and proudly display his grossly exaggerated measurement.

That's a neat but terrible idea for a belt. talk about make people self-concious. I would love to be constantly reminded of how fat I am AND let everyone else know as well but...I'd rather not.
