the National Science Foundation (NSF) along with the journal Science, published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), announced the winners of their 5th annual International Science & Technology Visualization Challenge.
for the category "informational graphics", 1st Place: Modeling the Flight of a Bat. Honorable Mention: How Does a Muscle Work?.
my personal favorite? (of those that can be found online): towers in the tempest [youtube.com], which received a honorable mention in the non-interactive media category. you can watch the movie after the break.
