The "Elastic List" faceted navigation concept proposed by has been nicely demonstrated for exploring the information behind the past Noble price winners. The new [moritz.stefaner.eu] project transposes this concept to the recently released , which covers over two million articles.

Users can narrow their searches through the huge New York Times database by keywords, persons, location, year or organization. However, as the API seems to support only one value per facet, .

For those playing with the API as well: I just learned that it is indeed possible to connect multiple values from one facet in a query:
query=bush per_facet:[BUSH, GEORGE W] per_facet:[CLINTON, BILL]

Just a note to say that the developer has fixed the single-facet issue.

This is an amazing resource. You can click on multiple facets, and add a search term to do some really powerful discovery.
