
In the line of one of Google's previous April's Fool Day proposals, this design concept might actually become feasible. "Google Maps Envelopes" maps the course of snail mail on the envelop itself. The project further proposes people would be able to send these envelopes through the GMail interface.

but... what if I want to send a mail to a friend living south-east from me? :)

Great idea as long as what you ship is to the east of your current location!
You could just change the orientation of the map, make it South-North rather than North-South (or whatever orientation works best). Remember, North doesn't equal 'up'.
