an interactive data visualization comparing the genome of two different people, enabling to see single letter changes (called SNPs, pronounced 'snips') every few thousand letters.
this application is created by one of the heros of information design, Ben Fry, famous for several truly inspiring visualizations, such as: salary versus performance, showing whether baseball teams are spending their money well in 2005, & how does it change over the course of the season, zipdecode, an intuitive ZIP code finder, distella map, showing the code of cartridge games, & valence, a cool 3D genome browser. he recently received the prestigious golden nica for processing, an impressive graphical Java API.
