weather dress
11 September 2005

a collection of dresses, titled 'Peau d'Âne', which are able to visualize ambient weather patterns in real-time from various geographic locations & at different times in the day, based on barometric characteristics of the sky, the moon & the sun. the sky dress displays changing structures & sounds based on changes in the sky: clouds, wind & precipitation determine the dress size (inflatable plastic), singing sounds (propelled air) & vibrations (airflow). the sun dress displays animated lights (LEDs) based on changes of UV & sun intensity readings. the greater the intensity of the sun, the brighter the dress will glow, much like the sun itself. the more UV rays outside, the more the dress’ LEDs will flash, like a warning/danger sign. the moonbeam dress displays changing color patterns based on the 28 day cycle of the moon.
