ambient devices, known from the ambient orb, beacon, dashboard & weather forecaster, has announced a 'weather forecasting umbrella'. the umbrella has a handle that pulses blue light when rain is predicted, so you are reminded to take it with you when leaving. the device knows where it is & can download the local weather report as it is wirelessly connected to a proprietary data communication network.
also in the pipeline: a 'magic mirror' that looks like a plain mirror but displays time, weather, traffic, stock or other information behind the glass. plus an upgraded, ultra-thin weather forecasting device that uses e-ink as display technology. see also weather toaster & weather dress.
